Environmental Physics offers you a clear understanding of Earth’s environment, using techniques, methods and analytical skills in Physics. The oceans, ice sheets, atmosphere, space environment are all governed by physical laws. Advances in Physics have helped us to determine which factors have impact on Earth’s water, air and land resulting in a collaborative effort to improve our surroundings. Recent research includes application of laser Physics and computing techniques to control air pollutants, creating more efficient energy generation methods, developing new cleanup technologies and understanding global weather and climate change. This degree is most suitable for those with strong interest in applied Physics and its application to Environmental issues.

12 years of education (Higher Secondary School, Certificate/Intermediate) F.Sc, (Pre-Engg.)/ICS/DAE/A-Level or Equivalent (Physics & Mathematics Combination) with at least second Division min 45% marks

Graduates from the Program of Environmental Physics will have excellent analytical and technical skill set to be a part of environmental research projects. These include technical positions in the fields of remote sensing, atmospheric modeling, air quality control, and climate study. Other options include following a career in teaching or taking up a position in industry. Some Engineering positions are always open in the fields of energy conservation, waste disposal, remediation of contaminated water, air and soil.
